Training
Receiving an overview of the product,
reading background material, and meeting with technical staff to learn the
finer details. Defining terminology to be used and names of products and modules.
Framework
Analyzing the products functionality
and workflows, planning the documents structure and style conventions,
and writing headlines.

Document framework is delivered. In consultation with the customer, chapters
can be added, changed or removed.
Writing First Draft
Filling in the chapters in the approved
framework with text, screenshots and diagrams.

First draft is delivered. Following a review by the
customer, changes are discussed.
Editing
Improving structure and phrasing,
adding missing explanations and correcting errors.
Second Draft is Delivered
The customer approves the document
and requests final changes.
Proofing and Pagination
The customers final changes
are implemented, the document is read by a proof-reader and is paginated.
